Barcelona reports on the 13th Congress

 

The report of the Congress was introduced during the meeting of the Executive Committee of the International Association of Educating Cities (IAEC) in Turin (Italy)

The Director of the 13th International Congress of Educating Cities, Antònia Hernández, introduced the report of the Congress, held in Barcelona last 13th – 16th of November of 2014. The Executive Committee congratulated the organization for the results achieved and took note of the improvement proposals for the next Congress, which will take place in Rosario (Argentina) on June 2016. These are the main outcomes of the event:

  • 839 delegates (1129 at the opening session)
  • 260 assistants per workshop session
  • 598 experiences applied
  • 140 experiences presented (91 workshops and 49 speakers’ corner)
  • 16 study visits
  • 4  official languages (Catalan, Spanish, English and French) and 2 incorporated in certain sessions (Portuguese and Korean)
  • Personalised attention to speakers of experiences
  • Live video streaming
  • Speakers’ corner replaced poster presentations
  • Dialogues in plenary sessions as interactive methodology between speakers
  • Implementation of sustainability and inclusion criteria
